Frequently asked questions

What kind of online therapy sessions does Calmerry provide?

Text Therapy. You have access to your virtual therapy room 24/7 and can leave a message to your counselor at any time. Text therapy involves asynchronous communication, so we don’t guarantee that you will get instant responses from your counselor. However, you can expect that your counselor will respond to your messages 1-2 times a day during their working days.

Video Therapy. You can schedule a session with a therapist using secure therapy space with a video chat room. Live video therapy sessions are held in real time and feel more personal than text-based online therapy. Multiple studies have found that live video therapy has the same effect as face-to-face sessions.

Are Calmerry counselors licensed?

At Calmerry, you will only be matched with a vetted licensed therapist from your state.

Our therapists are trained, licensed, and experienced clinical psychologists, marriage and family therapists (LMFT), clinical social workers (LCSW/LMSW), or licensed professional counselors (LPC). All of them have a Master’s Degree or a Doctorate Degree in their field. They have been qualified and certified by their state’s professional board after completing the necessary education, exams, training, and practice.

How is my privacy protected?

The privacy of our clients is our #1 priority. Therapy at Calmerry is absolutely confidential. Calmerry is a fully HIPAA compliant place. All your personal information and your therapy session data are encrypted on the servers.

What are your prices?

Calmerry is a subscription-based service. Currently, our clients can choose from 3 subscription plans with fees starting from $50 for Messaging Therapy. All our subscriptions are automatically charged on a monthly model as long as those subscriptions are active. You can cancel your subscription at any time.

How long does it take to see results of therapy?

It depends on the nature and severity of your condition and the type of treatment provided. Each person’s experience of psychotherapy will be different, and the time it takes to see an improvement will also vary. Sometimes even slight changes are quite visible, but the majority of clients report feeling better after 3 months of therapy. It takes time for therapy to work because ingrained habits and interpersonal patterns are not quick to change. To benefit from a therapy process, you need to actively engage in the treatment, complete assignments between sessions, and be honest with your counselor when describing symptoms and situations.
